Haute Mama, the product junkie!

In my last post I focused on saving for you and your family. But now to the good stuff! As a self-proclaimed Haute Mama, I am also a known product junkie! I love to indulge myself in products that make me feel beautiful and most importantly, take me away with time to myself even if it is just in my own bathroom. :)

I'm not sure if most of you know right now I am on bed rest at 26 weeks pregnant. So my ME time has been cut short, but I can savor the few moments I can be out of bed when it's time to shower. So I have put together a few products that even for just a moment, make me feel like I am on my own private spa day.

First on the list is the Aromatherapy line at Bath & Body Works. I am in love with the Lavender and Vanilla fragrance right now, it relaxes me and makes me smell soooo good! After my shower I use my Aveeno skin face wash (I have sensitive skin and this is wonderful) and next is my Kiehl's Tea Tree toner and an oil free moisturizer. Next I like to use thick creams on my body it seems to make my skin feel so soft even hours after I apply. I have a few different lotions in rotation; Johnson's Baby Lotion, Curel, Aveeno, and Nivea to name a few. But they all give me the soft feel that I and my honey love so much! :) And last but not least, we MUST take care of our footsies! I learned years ago from my Mom to put lotion on your feet and then put on a pair of nice cotton socks at night and your feet will stay soft and won't become victim to the dead skin...Yikes!

Well that is my routine in a nutshell....and thankfully I am still able to keep this up even on bed rest. It's probably more important now, being stuck in bed, then it has ever been to stay on top of my spa routine!

Well it's now time to do some stretching and then I'm off to a doc appointment!

Haute Mama Shopping Tips!

Well as we all know this economy is in a downward spiral! Which has most of us tightening up our expenses and really evaluating the way we spend our money. As a SAHM, I am no exception. Yes I like to be haute with all the latest and greatest products, but not at the expense of my families financial well-being. With that being said, I would like to share two websites that I have learned about in my short time as a SAHM (Stay At Home Mom).

1. www.thegrocerygame.com
This website is wonderful if you feel like you can put in the time and effort to clip coupons and save money! I was definitely not a coupon-clipper, however, in the past two years I have saved TONS in the grocery store. My biggest saving spree was a savings of over $75!!! I couldn't believe it, but it works. The downside there is a small fee to receive the list, but in my opinion it was totally worth it!

2. www.couponmom.com
This site is similar to the previous, but it's free. Which is a plus! She has links to printable coupons, restaurant coupons, and a free e-book called "Cut Your Grocery Bill in Half". I will be honest I haven't really jumped into this website much as of yet. But I receive valuable info via e-mail that hasn't made me un-subscribe from the mailing list. :)

Well that's all I have inthe savings department for now. I hope this helps and inspires you to find ways to save money in your own family.

Welcome to Wonderful Wednesday! Although, I am confined to my super comfy bed, wrapped up in my luxurious sheets and down comforter doesn't mean I can't be haute, right?

Today I am going to focus on feeling wonderful. For me that comes from the inside out. So I will have some good fruits and veggies to eat, take a hot shower with my lavendar scrub, moisturize my skin with some Kiehl's, and give myself a manicure! After all that I can't help but feel fabulous! And a little secret...I MUST get my eyebrows done, so this afternoon my honey will drive me and let me out of the bed just for a minute...shhhh don't tell my doc, but they must be done!

Okay, I need to do some leg exercises and stretch a little bit. I'll be back tomorrow with some haute mama buys.

Until Later,

9pm on a Saturday night....and I'm hanging out in the hospital. My family just left and that is the hardest part. :(

I'm thinking tonight I'm going to start reading "Shoe Addicts Anonymous" by Beth Harbison. I'm just hoping that won't ignite this feeling I'm having of shopping online. :)

I'm dying over how boring these posts are. But when I get out of this place. I'll be ready to go!

I'm not a fan of my new nurse....and I'm stuck with her until 7pm, ugh!
Good Morning!

I am still here in the hospital. It hasn't been all bad, but there truly is no place like HOME!

Right now I am hanging out in the hospital bed, yet staying true to my haute mama status. :). Which means no hospital gown...I have my own pj's from Victoria's Secret, hair in a roll out of bed ponytail,Burt's Bees lip gloss, and I am wearing my fav body spray from Bath & Body Works.

Just want to keep everyone posted....chat with ya later!

I really needed to get that off my chest thanks for listening. :)

So obviously I haven't been up to anything major. But I did get into a twitter fight with Perez Hilton this week. Does that count?? LOL! I'm over it now, I just didn't appreciate his crass judgement of Miss California.

I also would like to add pictures and links of haute items for all my haute mamas! So stay tuned! I'm new to this!

It's Thursday night 11:08pm. I am a patient in the hospital. The same hospital our daughter passed away 3.5 years ago, whoo! This is a major emotional moment. It's an emotional ride being here. No worries I'm not depressed anymore, but I am sad for our loss and I am sad about the piece missing from my heart. We will always love you Aja Nicole...RIP. Love, Mommy <3.

Until We Meet Again.....

So I have been MIA for the last week. Ok trying to get a handle on this whole Mama thing. :). I will be back this afternoon to spread some Thursday cheer! Right now I'm at my doctors office waiting to find out if I'll need a cerclage...yikes!!! Hmmm, just heard the doc say my name...be back!

Busy week!!!

My goodness! This is the first time in the last few days that I have been able to just sit down and unwind! So much for my nightly routine. :/

In the last month my family has moved from Texas to California. That brings tremendous change in one's life, let me tell you! Finding a place to live, new doctors, new services, moving day, and just all new surroundings in general. Well I have been in transition for the last month! And this week seemed to incorporate a little of everything. So I have been spending countless quality time in the car. :) Needless to say my house has suffered because of it. So I spent this afternoon in full on cleaning mode with my 20 month old son in tow. Boy, that kid really isn't one for helping me clean! It seems like everything thing I did, he un-did (yes, I just made up a new word :D)

Then it dawned on me that in about four months I will have another set of feet on my heels, or on my hip! Somehow this is not translating into my Haute Mama dreams?? So what is a girl to do? Well this weekend is dedicated to ME!!!! I will get my mani and pedi, my eyebrows tended to, I will buy some new product (I'm a product junkie! I love everything for hair, skin, nails you name it!) and I will tend to my hair! Then next week I can come back better than ever! Refreshed and haute like I should be!

Also stay tuned next week I plan on adding some pictures with my posts. My son, Jaden is truly a hilarious and remarkable child and I must show him off! I've also added an application to my Iphone so I can blog when I'm on the road...yippeee!!

Well let me enjoy a little ME time while the little one is asleep and Dad is preoccupied with the television.

Until Later,

Happy Easter!

It's a beautiful day here in Southern California! The sun is shining and the weather is nice. But alas, we are in the house today. My son has a fever and isn't in the mood for crowds. Although I'm not happy about him not feeling well. I welcome the break in our regular scheduled programming. :)

So I vow that today I will take a break from cleaning, vacuuming, washing, and anything other household chores! I will open all the windows, sit in the backyard and enjoy the view! I will give my son cold compresses and Motrin and Tylenol as needed! I will not spend my day over the hot stove! And most importantly, I will take some time to relax!

Enjoy your day!

*Haute Tips*

I am Thankful for Thursday!

So with that being said I need to continue to be thankful and nurture my hauteness :). Every night when my son goes to sleep, I try to take some time to unwind alone. Just me and my thoughts of the day, how I can improve as a woman and a mother, and to just be. It means so much to be able to let go of any stresses of the day. It can also help you go into tomorrow with no anger or resentment of the day before. Try it out sometime, I'm sure you will benefit greatly!

I'm off to give myself a mini facial. I think feeling beautiful on the inside and out contributes greatly to my success as a Mom. So I will meditate for at least 15 minutes to reflect on my day, then it's on to the facial. Gotta keep it haute!

Until Later,

Thoughts for the day...

Well Good afternoon! Today is Thankful for a Tidy Thursday. :) I've decided to give every day a name and a purpose. So hopefully I can keep my family productive and on track.

My nineteen month old son has began to sleep in his toddler bed. Which in theory, is a terrific milestone. But this morning, not so much. I woke up to a little noise. So I roll out of bed and make my way to the kitchen. Where my son is enjoying a peanut and butter sandwich from the trash! Oh joy! Note to self, this kid needs a gate in the entry of his bedroom.

Now he has converted an empty box of diapers into what I'm assuming is a car? He is now sliding through the house, which is actually quite hilarious! I would love to take a picture but of course my camera has no batteries!! I'm on a roll today and I still have a to-do list a mile long...yippee!

I'll be back a little later with I'm sure more fun stories and mayhem from our house to yours.

Until Later,
*Haute Mama*

The Beginning...

I am starting this blog because I feel like I need an outlet. An outlet to talk about the crazy things I am thinking, the crazy things my 19 month old son is doing, and just about all the crazy things life throws my way.

Today I am thinking how do I live in a clutter free, dish free, and laundry free home?? And I came to the conclusion that I would have to live without two people. Now I don't want to call any names. However, it's just myself and two males that live here, so you be the judge. I mean one is 19 months old, so he gets a pass at times. But how about the 31 year old? And this is when I begin to think how long can I survive as a SAHM? Because with that title it just screams housekeeper, cook, scheduler, driver, shopper, and just about everything in between! Is this the life of a self proclaimed Haute Mama??!! I guess I'll be the judge of that!

So for now I'm going to sign off....it's time to engage this kid in a little arts and crafts, reading, how to use a vacuum, dinner, bath and bedtime! :)

Until Later,
