Good night weekend...

It was a calm and relaxing Easter Sunday….okay it wasn’t calm or relaxing, but that sure did sound good! I was up until 5am this morning talking on the phone like a teenager. Those are the moments that I miss the most about adolescence. No cares in the world, with time to chat with friends. Now why on earth would I do such a thing with an almost two year old and almost four year old home with me?! I have no idea! By 8am they were up and raring to GO! I was no match for the J’s…so I turned on a movie and invited them to hang out in my room while I caught few more zzz’s! *Patting self on back* after a couple of hours of rest, I was able to get up and get going before 11am. To make up for my lazy Mommy morning, I made Belgian waffles and bacon! I then made an attempt to clean the house. Ahhh, those children really have it out for me when cleaning time comes around. I am convinced they move from room to room to either a) make a bigger mess, or b) mess up what I’ve just cleaned. Is just something my rambunctious children do? Please tell me this isn’t some DNA issue that I’m stuck with?! LoL. As lunch time and nap time approached they seemed to wind down a bit. Thank goodness! I was able to catch up on news and television in peace and quiet. And before you know it….THEY ARE AWAKE! Since it is Easter, we decided to make an Easter Bunny cake. We didn’t brave outside because my youngest is battling a virus and I know his immune system couldn’t handle catching anything else. He is already a glob of snot…ewww! As I was saying, we made a bunny cake. The J’s loved it and helped me whisk out all the lumps. After it was done cooling we iced the cake and used candy to decorate Mr. Bunny (is what they named him). Then it was time for me to cook dinner. This is the beauty and the curse of this whole single parent life. I have moved away from my family, and this is my first holiday being on my own. So with no dinner prospects, I was in charge of making dinner. And just because I was not cooking for a ton of people, I went for a fancy dinner. Filet mignon, macaroni and cheese (cheddar, Monterey jack, and goat cheese), and roasted red potatoes. Yes, I know….no veggies! But this is the beauty part of being single…I don’t have to eat veggies if I don’t want.  The rest of the night was a blur of reality television, cartoons, cleaning house, and getting ready for the work week ahead! I am sad to weekend behind me, but I am blessed that I was able to spend time with my kids and thankful to have a job to start the week off with. With that…Good night!

Until tomorrow….

All I want for Christmas are Shutterfly holiday photo cards!

It's that time of the year again, when you want to show off your Holiday spirit and your family. You get your family together in their Christmas best and take a family photo. Next you log onto to a photo website such as Shutterfly to begin your holiday masterpiece.

Last year I went with a kids only card because Dad was deployed. This year I plan to add the entire family. I use Shutterfly's holiday photo cards for my holiday cards. They have beautiful designs such as the "Family wall red" it's a collage of photos with a classic design. "Glitter glamour joy" is also a favorite design of mine. It's classic with a little glamour, just like me! So check out their website and send a little piece of your family to your family and friends.

For those of you who shudder at the thought of sending out Christmas photo cards (I used to be one..lol) check out Shutterfly gift tags and address labels. It's a cool way to personalize your gifts and mailings during the holiday season!

I hope you enjoy your Holiday and your photo cards!

I was selected to write this post about my experience with Shutterfly. I will receive 50 Shutterfly photo cards for this post.

A New Day.....

Today was supposed to be D-Day, ie: the day Dad leaves for a 7 month deployment. Yet somehow, we were granted an extra week. Although someone will be getting their a** chewed out. My honey gets to stay home with us!!! So sorry to the guy who probably had his a** handed to him. Thanks for that sacrifice for all us families who will savor this extra week with our loved ones.

With that being said, this week I want to focus on Family Time. I have made a meal plan to cook every day next week. I even plan on making Him a carrot cake. We will spend another week hanging out at the park, going to the drive-in, Chuck E. Cheese, and we'll even take a family portrait.

Well it's time for me to get back to my family. I want to get back to my blog to help me get through this crazy life, I call mine.

Tough Tuesday!

So I started this blog to vent, share, and chronicle my life as a SAHM. It has been much harder to stay organized and on top of life. So finding the time to update my blog has fallen by the wayside. But I'm determined to keep it going.

I would describe my day as "Tough Tuesday". My house is a complete disaster! I feel like all I do is pick up clothes, toys, and shoes. I have done enough dishes to make me think there are an additional four people living somewhere in my house. It seems that I am cleaning the house EVERYDAY as if we had a party the day before! But the pay-off to that, is my family is happy and my two year old son has a blast throughout the day. But with all that being said, I still crave a clean house. So I have a question for you...how do you stay organized? Any tips and tricks I should try?

I found this article "100 Ways to Get Organized". They all sound promising, but the problem comes when it's time to actually implement the organization tools...LoL!

Well it is 1:19am and I not even the least bit tired! Dad is feeding the baby and watching the corniest movie of all time! But it's time to get some beauty rest. Which I have been slacking on! So tomorrow I will spend some time beauty tips and ways to pamper yourself.

And the countdown begins....

So it's been two weeks since my last post. I'd love to say I have been super busy with this or that, but that's just not true! I've been here at home still on bed rest, doing a serious countdown until my baby boy makes his entrance into this crazy world!

I'd also love to say I have been relaxing and enjoying the free space and time. However, that is also untrue! I live in a house with two other people. A 31 year old man and a 22 month old boy...use your imagination. They are loud, messy, and sometime just downright annoying! But I love them both dearly. :)
I am currently 32 weeks pregnant and I'm hopefully just five weeks away from the birth of my second son. I'm not quite sure I can make it past that 37 week mark.

Well it's nap time in my house, so I'm going to enjoy the little bit of free time I have left before the little guy wakes up and is up and running!

Here are a few pics of what we've been up to the last few weeks...Enjoy!

Bedrest days....

So I've been on bed rest for just about a month now! Whew, and it looks like I have at least another two months ahead of me! But thankfully, modern technology and the old school has kept me entertained. Here are a few websites that keep me busy:

www.keepemcookin.com
A site catering to women on bed rest.

www.twitter.com
Social networking at it's best! It's like a giant chat room. :)

www.typeamom.com
Site catered to us Mommies! They also have opportunities to make money writing articles for their site.

Also I have read a few books, but of course they are all in the living room on a shelf...heehee! But I'm all caught up on my chick lit. :) And last, but not least my magaizines: Glamour, InStyle, Parenting, Cosmo, and Baby Talk.

And the most entertaining of them all.....my son, Jaden! Who at 21 months old has learned a plethora of new skills. Bring Mommy her cell phone charger, bring Mommy a book to read to you, he can answer the phone and make calls (but that isn't recommened because he calls whomever you DON'T want to speak to), and he has almost mastered brushing his teeth without me having to go over them!

I am also thankful to my family for all of their help and support! I couldn't make it this far without you all!

Love Always,
~Haute Mama still on bed rest~
